        Durkheim thought the same about suicide. Less anomie more suicide. Merton expands it to crime.
        
        Generalization-anomie applied to crime Improvement-Anomie is socially & culturally determined

        The american dream has 6 types of people- CONFORMISTS (become rich, work hard) INNOVATIORS (become rich, dont work hard) RITUALISTS (dont become rich, work hard)
        RETREATISTS (nothing) REBELLIONS (nothing)
        
        White collar crime=original theory states that unequal access leads to legitimate means. but unequal access to illegitimate means also does just that- higher classes commit more financial crimes
- - - - REFRENCE GROUP=who do we compare our selves with. Ingroup (feeling respect & loyality) vs outgroup (feeling competition & resistance)
        
        Dyade is unstable. Triade is less instable.
        
        bigger groups-focused internally heterogenous-focused externally.
        
        FORMAL GROUPS-efficient way of executing complete tasks. They are large secondary groups
        
        Bureaucracy=informal rules, norms, leadership

        Popular culture vs High culture.
        
        Pierre Bourdieu=social reproduction happens via education. Everyone has certain economic, symbolic, cultural, social capital. So education is not the same for everyone.
        
        Sub culture=apart segment of society with its own practicalities. Counter culture-practicalities which immediately resist to the common culture
