Defination
Is a condition in which the adrenal gland do not produce adequate amount of steriod hormones,primarily cortisol
Causes
Fungal infection
Cancer that has spread from another part of the body
A virus called cytomegalovirus
the immune system to attack healthy tissue
Tuberculosis
Clinical menifestation
Loss of appetite
Weight loss
Muscle wekness
Nausea,vomiting and anaemia
Chronic,worsening fatigue

Hydrocortisone
Prednisone
Body rest
Intravenous steriod later hydrocortisone,prednisone tablets.

Pathophysiology
Low levels of glucocorticoids leads to systemic hypotension
This will results in a decrease in stretch of the arterial baroreceptors of the corotid sinus and aortic
This removes the tonic vegal and glossaphryngeal inhibition on the central release of ADH
Hyponatremia can be caused by glucocorticoid deficiency
