Definition
Is broadly the way a classroom functions or works. It is a set of beliefs of values shared by the group.

Positive teacher–student relationship can also potentially buffer students from the risk of peer victimization.
Negative teacher-student relationships have been show to relate to less student participation, poor academic grades, an increase in behavioural difficulties and an increased likley hood to participate in risk taking activities.
Teachers are role models to students not only through how they teach, but through their actions and the way they communicate and interact.
Teachers need to be able to recognize and understand students’ social cues, plan how to respond, and communicate with students in order to develop positive relationships.
