Neptune was a powerful ruler of the sea, he was also the god of horses and earthquakes.
Neptune fell in love with Salacia and they married. He loved her but he wasn't always faithful to her so he married other wives and had lot of children.
Neptune and Salacia had three daughters which was sea Nymphs, their most famous child was their son Triton which was half men and half fish.

He had a mortal twin giant who thought they were better than the gods. Then they challenged the gods to prove their powers.
One day, Jupiter was about to punish the twins but then Neptune came and urged Jupiter to spare them.

Neptune had another son which was Polyphemus, he was a monstrous he lived alone on an island. He got stabbed in the eye by a clever guy that went into his cave and Polyphemus asked Neptune to punish them and he did.
Neptune fell in love with ceres (The Roman goddess Ceres). Ceres challenged Neptune to create a beautiful animal. Neptune took a few days to make a gorgeous horse and ceres were happy. Then Neptune created a whole herd of horses for ceres.
Neptune was a restless god, he can often be found racing across the surface of the water with his seashell chariot.
Every year there will be a festival called Neptunalia which is held on every July to celebrate a series of festivals that honoured the rain that ended the drought of summer.
