Boxer Rebellon

1898 a Chinese secret society, the Righteous and Harmonious Fists launched an uprising against foreign influence in China.

Missionaries and suspected Christians were attacked and sometimes killed. The terrorist activities of the Boxer society gradually increased during 1899 with Boxer bands attacking Christians on sight.
