When cancer produces substances that activate clotting mechanisms.
Pathophysiology
Fibrolysis occurs simultaneously
Fibrin has anticoagulation effects
Which causes the body to consume clotting factors faster than can be produced.
This results in bleeding
It involves a widespread of clotting mechanisms
Symptoms
Prolonged bleeding at iv site
Bleeding under the skin
Ischaemic pain,
Abnormal clotting profile
History of cancet
Nursing management
Give prescribed anticaugulatics.
Give prescribed tranexamic acid
Assist with treatment for the underlying causes
Administer blood components
Observe and report signs of bleeding to the doctor
