Electoral Institutions
Preparation of the election: Begins with the first session that the General Council of the INE holds during the first week of September.
Election Day: Starts at 8:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of June and concludes with the closing of the box.
Results and declarations of the validity of the elections: Begins with the submission of the documentation and electoral files to the district councils and concludes with the computations and declarations made by the councils of the Institute.
Opinion and declarations of the validity of the election:Begins when the last of the means of challenge that have been filed against this election is resolved or when it is recorded that none was presented and concludes when the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal approves the opinion that contains the final calculation and declarations of the validity of the election and of the elected President.
Who can vote in Mexico?
- All Mexicans over 18 years of age and who have an honest way of living can participate in the elections. It is necessary that they are registered in the Federal Voter Registry.
2.Citizens who have been rehabilitated in their electoral political rights.
3.Citizens who have a resolution of the Electoral Court of the Judicial Power of the Federation, which in their operative resolutions are allowed to vote.
How do citizens register in the Federal Voter Registry?
Upon reaching the age of majority or at the first opportunity, if they have not done so before, Mexicans can go to the nearest INE Citizen Attention Module to request their registration in the Federal Voter Registry.

On Election Day, the boxes must be installed at the assigned locations and voting begins to be received from 08:00.

After verifying their registration on the nominal list, the voter receives the ballot or ballots.
