New Brunswick has one of the highest levels of household food waste among the provinces. Over 40 per cent of households in New Brunswick throw out the equivalent of one or more grocery bags of food each week

The annual value of lost and wasted food in Canada is roughly $31 billion. Almost half of all food waste takes place at the household level.
