CT scan to determine the size of the gland & location of abnormal or aspiration of fluid from the gland

Nursing care plan
Impaired verbal communication - assess speech periodically. Encourage voice rest.
Keep communication simple by asking yes/no questions.
Risky of injury - monitor vital signs, elevated temperature.tachycardia, arrhythmia's, respiratory & cyanosis.
Ineffective airway clearance - monitor the respiratory rate, depth & breathing pattern

Keep the remaining of the gland so in the next follow up a patient can be sent to ct scan to check or a sample can be sent to the laboratorty check progress
