Monitor respiratory depth, rate, pattern, pulse oximetry, and ABG.
Encourage deep breathing, coughing, and use of incentive spirometry.
Orientate the patient to time, place, date and events around him or her.

Encourage the client to follow a low-cholesterol, low-calorie, low-saturated fat diet. and encourage intake of foods rich in fiber.
Educate the family and client regarding thyroid hormones. Teach the expected benefit and possible side effects.
Plan care to allow individually adequate rest periods. schedule activities for periods when then the client has the most energy.

Food rich in zinc (oysters, beef, crab, fortified cereal, pork, legumes, chicken, yogurt)
Pathophysiology
The thyroid gland produces and releases into the circulation two potent hormones, T4 and T3, which influence basal metabolic processes or enhance oxygen consumption in nearly all body tissues.
