The types of symmetry used in creating mandala's includes the three types: Rotational symmetry, reflection symmetry, and point symmetry. Reflection is when an object is mirrored across a line, rotational is when an object is still symmetrical with itself when rotated (octagons, squares, etc), and point is essentially when you can flip an object upside down and it is still symmetrical (the letters X, N, H, S, etc).
