Examples:
Kahoot! is a great tool to see a students knowledge during a unit. It is interactive and game-like, but still provides the teacher with data.
Exit Tickets are a great way for students to show their understanding at the end of a lesson.
Definition:
A type of assessment that allows teachers to provide feedback to students, gather information, and adjust instruction, to promote student achievement.

Summative
Definition:
The end of a planned unit assessment that gives teacher data about student achievement levels.
Examples:
Unit tests show the teacher the students knowledge at the end or a learning segment.
Final Exams show a students knowledge at the end of a semester
Performance
Definition: A type of assessment that evaluates a students ability to apply their skills and knowledge of a subject, and usually requires critical thinking skills.
Examples: Projects - Science fair allows students to apply their abilities and knowledge about the scientific process.
Presentations- Creating their own procedural text to show how to make a dish
Interim/Benchmark
Examples:
District Assessments occur periodically throughout the year to make sure students are on pace with their knowledge for the State Test.
MAP occurs at the beginning, middle, and end of the year to predict students abilities and show areas of strength.

Diagnostic
Definition: This form of assessment informs teachers about student achievement gaps and of the students academic abilities.
Examples: Preassessments beginning a unit show a teacher the student prior knowledge. Running Records inform teachers of students' reading ability, which allows a teacher to scaffold students' knowledge.
