Language Acquisition Device: An instinctive mental capacity to acquire and reproduce language. This is a component of our thoughts. Developed by Noam Chomsky in the 1960's.
Nativist: We are biologically pre- programmed to develop language.
All babies go through the same stages of language development regardless of age.
