States' Rights
The Southern states felt like the federation was taking away their rights.
States rights was new to the civil war.
Industry Vs. Farming
Most people of the north lived in New York or Philadelphia.
People started moving to industry for profit instead of farming.
Slavery
The South relied on slavery for labor and many other things.
The biggest problem with the south was slavery.
Expansion
Southern began to think they were losing so many right they wouldn't have any.
Each state added to the us added onto the shifting of power between the south and north.
Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln was the final piece to stopping slavery.
He got elected without being in ten of the ballots.
Secession
The Civil war starts.
After Lincolns election south states split apart from the U.S.
Bleeding Kansas
The region had supporters everywhere not helping with abolishing slavery.
Kansas was where the first fight over slavery had happened.
