Analysis of MTW Brief - KEY WORDS
Artefact
Definition: An artifact is an object made by a human being, usually a long time ago.
This will basically be the entire project as of itself. A tower-shaped plant pot that can hold six pieces each.
These will be held up by mortise and tenon joints
The base of the plank will be held to to hardwood stand by dowels, as I need more joints than just mortise and tenon
Freestanding
Definition: Not attached to or supported by another structure
This is what my project will go by. Not attached to anything else, just held up by a hardwood base and gravity.
An example here is a penguin jigsaw that stands by itself
Handcraft
Definition: To make anything skillfully by hand
This doesn't necessarily have to apply to wood. It can also apply to:
Embroidery
Weaving
Pottery
Wall-mounted
Definition: An artifact or other project mounted on a wall
There are two ways to make a nice-looking wall mounted artifact
The first option is to use screws or nails that would hammered or drilled through the project and into the wall, holding it in place firmly if done correctly.
The second option is to hook it on to a different house ornament that uses hooks to hold things (e.g coat rack)
