Elevated levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) with lower levels of thyroxine (T4). A type of hypothyroidism.

Clinical Manifestations
Sensitivity to cold, constipation, pallor of the skin, facial swelling, and in some cases hair loss.
Brittle nails, weigh gain, muscle aches, joint pain, tongue swelling, prolonged menstrual bleeding, depression, and lapses in memory.

Symptoms that should be discussed with a doctor: high cholesterol, dry skin, face swelling, constipation, and pallor.
