CHAPTER 17
chemical equilibrium
a state in which the forward and backwards reactions balance each other because they take place at equal rates
BALANCING is not a factor here, it all related to the RATE
-
-
CHAPTER 16
The Colloision Theory
-
-
- states that atoms, ions, and molecules must collide in order to react/ the factors that affect the rate of the reaction
-
reaction rate
- the change of concentration per unit of time
-
Rate Law
- the relationshhip between thhe rate of a chemical reaction and the concentration of the reactants, not the products
Rate Law expression
rate = k[A]^x [B]^y
- k is a constant, [A] is the concentration of A, [B] is the concentration of B, x is the order of the reaction in respect to A, and y is the order of the reaction in respect to B
