work towards a negotiated outcome of the task set
listen carefully to the instructions and carry them out

take notice of the title on the visuals
keep in mind context or audience

ensure that the outcome is appropriate
make positive contributions to move a discussion forward
show a willingness to take turns, inviting others to speak, listening and responding, as well as initiating discussion themselves.
be good listeners, pick up on their partner’s points
make use of functional language needed to manage a discussion, i.e. how to move forward, re-direct if necessary, manage the conclusion, etc.
