When looking at it from a wider point of view, one could see reasons as to how internment camps benefited and harmed the Japanese Canadian community. When looking at it from a political and social standpoint, it gave the minority group a much larger voice today, than they ever would have ever had. However, when evaluating it from an economic perspective, the Japanese Canadian community faced many setbacks, as most if not all the business owners had gone into debt. Also considering that it dramatically impacted the lives of those who went through the internment camps, not only physically, but mentally. Overall this event did have a positive impact on the minority group, as they were able to leave their mark as a part of national history, and become a powerful cultural group throughout Canada.
