Chair-lifting scene
After Eddie pretends to teach Rodolfo how to box, Marco challenges him by asking, "Can you lift this chair?"
The conflict between Marco and Eddie begins when Eddie starts to show his dislike of his younger brother, Rodolfo, with physical aggression. Eddie pretends to teach Rodolfo how to box to hurt him as he is upset with him for taking away Catherine while Marco is upset over the fact that Eddie has intentionally hurt his younger brother.
After Marco successfully raises the chair while Eddie is unable to do so, Marco has 'a glare of warning into a smile of triumph'.
Previously, Marco has been respectful to Eddie since arriving and this is one of the first times Marco has stood up to his host, Eddie. Eddie has clearly overstepped Marco's boundaries which is his family. This leads to tension between the both Eddie and Marco.

Eddie & Marco fighting
When Marco calls Eddie out from Eddie's house, Eddie responds with "Marco, tell them what a liar you are!" and lunges for Marco
Eddie doesn't see what anything wrong with what he has done but he has ruined Marco's livelihood. Eddie is obsessed over the idea of getting his respect back from Marco and hopes to salvage his reputation this way. However, Marco wants to seek justice for what Eddie has done to him. The conflict lies in how the both of them are clearly trying ro achieve dffierent things, creating more tension.
Eddie VS Rodolfo
Double Kissing Scene
" Rodolfo flies at him in attack. Eddie pins his arms laughing, and suddenly kisses him. " ( Pg 47 )
When Eddie loses control and kisses Catherine, Rodolfo gets angry and Eddie challenges him to show that he can dominate both of them and also kisses Rodolfo. Eddie did something Catherine and Rodolfo did not wanted, resulting in a clash of interest.
Eddie addresses Rodolfo as ' that ' shows us that Eddie disrespects Rodolfo. Eddie has a strong dislike for Rodolfo, especially after he saw both of them coming out of the same room with Catherine adjusting her dress. Eddie doesn't see Rodolfo as a person.
Boxing Scene
" He feints with his left hand and lands with his right. It mildly staggers Rodolfo " Pg 41
It causes tensions as after Rodolfo feints Catherine rushes to help Rodolfo and there is rising tension.
Eddie intentionally attacked Rodolfo to establish dominance over Rodolfo. Eddie knew that Rodolfo had no experience in boxing and was only a beginner, seizing the chance to hurt him.
" Watch out, here I come Danish! " (Pg 41)
Shows how Eddie is lightly insulting Rodolfo by calling him labels.
" Did I hurt you kid ? " ( Pg 41 )
Eddie is looking down on Rodolfo and trying to indirectly say that he is only a kid but wants to court Catherine
Rodolfo wants to spite Eddie for his attacking him and knows that Eddie dislikes seeing Catherine with him, thus taking the initiative and inviting Catherine to dance with him. He intentionally does something that Eddie does not like.
Attempted Apology Scene
Although Rodolfo is the better man in this scene and tries to compromise for something that was not his mistake, Eddie 's ego cause him to reject the apology as he has not gotten his name back after the snitching. Rodolfo tries to make amends with Eddie, but Eddie is unwilling to do so,
