they have heat, power pumps, light, but no radio
very poor morale everyone was sad and scared
sent out a rescue boat
getting very close to the tanker

had extreme trouble getting to the boat

Captain Joseph says that they are going to pull up to the side of the stern and let the men jump aboard
Peterson is out of ideas and tells captain Joseph to go for it
the acushnet save 18 men on the water craft in 2 passes of a very dangerous maneuver
