fracture of L. femoral neck. Fell down
2 concrete stairs at home while

Pathophysiology
Osteosarcoma is cancer that originates within the bone and causes weakening of the bone. It is commonly diagnosed in children and young adults. It tends to develop within the femur (as is the case for SG) or the humerus, and the tumor(s) can be treated with chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. Osteosarcoma weakens the bone and can result in repetitive and multiple fractures in the affected limb. The cancer developed in the distal left femur for SG and resulted in a total knee replacement to eliminate the cancer.
Weakened bone structure and compromised
strength resulted in an easy fracture in the
femoral neck, requiring placement of
screws in the neck to connect the pelvis to
the femur.
