Cell Division
Mitosis
a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus, typical of ordinary tissue growth.
Meiosis
a type of cell division that results in four daughter cells each with half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell, as in the production of gametes and plant spores.
Types of Cells
Eukaryotic
Eukaryotes are organisms whose cells have a nucleus enclosed within membranes, unlike prokaryotes, which have no membrane-bound organelles.
Prokaryotic
A prokaryote is a unicellular organism that lacks a membrane-bound nucleus, mitochondria, or any other membrane-bound organelle.
Herenity
Phenotype
In genetics, the phenotype of an organism is the composite of the organism's observable characteristics or traits.
Genotype
The genotype is the part of the genetic makeup of a cell, and therefore of any individual, which determines one of its characteristics.
Flowers & Pollinator
Cross-Pollination
a reproductive process in which pollen from one plant is transferred to the stigma of another plant
Pistil
Female part of the flower
Stamen
Male part of the flower
Pollen
tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells in flowers.
