If that is the case, someone getting thrown off a roller coaster does not make a good argument since they distance their beliefs even more. Even if they don't come to the same conclusion, a roller coaster should not be a metaphor for an argument because in an argument, people start with opposing or at least different views. However, in a roller coaster, the starting and ending are all together. there are no differences.
