Thomas Aquinas created this argument. He expressed that everything has a cause, therefore the universe must have a cause also. That cause, Thomas Aquinas said, was God, as he is the only force that has enough power to create something such as this. This means that God must exist. However, the argument of God needing a cause rose. If everything has a cause, God needs one also. He disagreed, and said that God is an exception to this rule, as he is the first uncaused cause.
