WE ARE ASKING TOO MUCH OF DAYCARE
most childcare is not high quality
children who spend 30 hours or more in daycare have increased behavioral problems and aggression
Children often don't get the one-on-one care and nurturing they need.
The best situations have been found to be in home care with few children per adult.
Children and low quality Child Care tend to have higher cholesterol levels (stress)
Both parents are equally responsible and affected by the care for their children. We do not need to turn a call for improvement on childcare into telling moms to return home.
WHEN MOM CAN'T BE HOME
There are circumstances that require the mother to work it is still the parents responsibility to provide their children with the necessities of life and nurture them.
Parents in these circumstances must make quality time with their children.
What is easy for you and what is best for your children may not always be the same thing. It is important to choose what is best for them when looking for childcare.
Young children need an environment as close to a home as possible.
Older children can let you know what they would prefer and help you make the decision.
The first few minutes after you pick up your child are extremely important. Make that turn quality time.
Make sure to pick them up on time. Being late makes them feel insecure.
Ask your child how they like their daycare to make sure that their needs are being met.
QUOTES
we need to make family time a priority
our children will not learn about the gospel unless we take time ti teach them
we need to make time for the spirit to speak to us.
THE PARENTS PRIORITY
If parents each work two-thirds of the time instead of full-time they will have more time for their children.
When we speak of childcare we should assume that both men and women have an equal responsibility for the care of their children. That makes the discussion of childcare no longer restrictive on women.
Children's needs should come first before parents careers or financial decisions.
Spend time with children in the evening. Have them help you with your chores.
Children can sense intentions.
Not talking about the truth to avoid making people feel guilty does not change the truth.
