Implant
A plastic coil that is placed inside the womans uterus to prevent fertilised eggs from implanting in the uterus
Hormone Patch
When placed on skin, the hormones are absorbed through your skin and enter your bloodstream. The hormones suppress your pituitary gland which stops your ovaries from releasing eggs.
Barrier Methods

Female: Less commonly seen as it is not as effective as male condoms and therefore not sold as much in shops
Spermicide
Kills or disables sperm. Comes in the form of foam, cream or jelly. Woman puts it into her vagina before intercourse.
Diaphragm
Prevents sperm from entering the uterus. It is a small rubber dome. Should be used with sperm killing cream or foam.

Progesterone
It is produced mainly in the ovaries following ovulation each month. After ovulation , progesterone helps thicken the lining of the uterus to prepare for a fertilized egg.
Luteinising Hormone
Triggers ovulation and development of the Corpus Luteum. In males it is where LH stimulates production of Testosterone.
