Psalm 137: How shall we sing the Lord's song?

Situation (was not in Jerusalem)

Undesired, present

we sat down and wept by the waters of Babylon

good, recalled

we remembered Zion

we hung up our lyres

our captors requires us our song

our tormentors saying, " sing us one of the songs of Zion"

How shall we sing the Lord's songs in a foreign land?

If I forget you, O Jerusalem
If I do not remember you
If I do not set Jerusalem above the highest joy

let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth

let my right hand forgets its skill.

O Lord, remember against the Edomites the day of Jerusalem

How they said, "lay it bare, lay it bare, down to its foundations."

Making a wish

O daughter of Babylon, doomed to be destroyed

making a negation

Shall he be blessed?

who repays you with what YOU have done to us

who takes Your little ones and dashes them against the rock
