Usability principles
Consistency
layout to other similar apps (learnability) It would make people transitioning from competitors apps much easier and give less of a reason to continue using the competitors app instead of ours.
Similar colour scheme. This would be considered a learnability principle as it makes the app a lot easier to navigate.
Big buttons so that user won't accidentally hit something. This would be considered a accessibility principle as it makes sure that all people can use the app
Easily navigable (Learnability) As some people who may not be as advanced in tech needs to be able to use it and may be put off if the app looks intimidating or crowded with a lot of features.
Using similar gestures to the iPhone (EG: Swipe to go back) (Learnability) This is because it will allow the user to not waste time relearning how to navigate a brand new app and potentially deter the user from using it.
Features

It needs to take the data from the heart rate, determine what workout you're doing then calculate the calories burned from there.

-
The ability to switch workouts without stopping to continue one long workout comprised of different excersies
Detecting if the speed of someone is too fast for the workout a user selected. For example going 40kph while on the running exercise would perhaps prompt the user to switch over to perhaps a cycling one.
