Summative
Summative assessments are assessments that are taken at the end of learning. They review what the students have learned over the course of, say, a unit lesson.

Diagnostic
Diagnostic assessments are pre-assessments that help a teacher to see where their students are individually before entering new instruction. This can gauge their skills and weaknesses and understanding to better guide their lessons.

Performance assessments are assessments that check the students ability to actually apply things that are learned from a unit. They usually challenge the students to complete processes, or to create things on their own

Interim/Benchmark
Interim/Benchmark assessments are a form of formative assessments that are given periodically throughout the year to gauge student learning. These don't usually provide feedback to the students. And usually come before summative assessments.
