Climate factors
Air masses/Wind
Description: All warm air comes from the equator and all cold air come from the poles. Both get mixed up because the earth is spinning. Every single day there is mixing of warm and cold air.
Location: an area where the mixing happens is around South USA but it sometimes moves Higher to the Canada. Warmer air moves faster than cold air which is why it is northern and not at the 45 degrees area which is like Toronto

Latitude
Description:Latitude is how far somewhere is from the equator. The equator is 0 degrees and from there the poles are 90 degrees north and south. latitude goes colder the more it is, that is why the poles are so much colder than the equator.
Location:the North Pole is a good example because it is much colder than the equator because the latitude is 90 degrees North than the equator being 0 degrees.

Ocean Currents
Description: more water comes from the northern part of the world which is why most water is cold, there is only 10 percent of warm water in the oceans. the entire earth is 70 percent water. Ocean currents happen because warm air goes above cold air and it keeps on cycling which makes Ocean currents.
Location: a location where Ocean currents happen are in the oceans so if you go to a beach and take a boat, ocean currents will come in your way, you could see them on the coasts of Hawaii because you can see very far and see currents.

Elevation
Description: Elevation is where if you go in higher altitude then it gets colder and colder like at the bottom of a mountain it is 17 degrees but -3 degrees at the top of the mountain.
Location: Quito in Ecuador is 3000 meters above sea level and on the equator yet, the max temperature was 18 degrees.

Relief
Location: the rain forests in BC are a perfect example like the great bear rainforest, one side is a wet from the pacific ocean and the other side is dry.
Image:
Description: Relief precipitation occurs when moist air from the ocean runs into a mountain barrier causing the air to rise, forced to go up and turns into clouds which makes one side a rainforest and the other one dry.

Bodies of Water
Description: Bodies of water take a while to change temperature because it is so deep. bodies of water provide moisture to surrounding and nearby areas.
Location: a good location to feel the cold and the moisture is beaches because you can feel the water is cold after a couple of centimeters deep and it gets humid on some days.
