General types of status

Administrative agencies

- CBSA: Responsible for enforcement of IRPA and Regulations; removing people under enforceable removal orders, making arrests under IRPA and regulations; This is agency of the Ministry of public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
- Service Canada: is not an immigration-related department per se as it is part of the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada rather than IRCC. The LMIA is a document issued by Service Canada to Canadian employers so they may hire temporary foreign works
- IRB: is Canada's largest administrative tribunal and is responsible for hearing certain immigration and refugee matters. Report to IRCC, but it is dependent it

What is the "Board"
Per s. 2(1) IRPA: Board means the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) of Canada,
which include Refugee Protection Division, the Refugee Appeal Division, the Immigration Division and the Immigration Appeal Division
Selection refers to meeting the eligibility criteria of an immigration program, whether provincial or federal.
Admissibility refers to meeting the admissibility criteria to be landed as permanent residence.
Work: means an activity for which wages are paid or commission is earned, or that is in direct competition with the activities of Canadian citizens or permanent residents in the Canadian labor market.
