Train
Electric Light
The Electric Light was invented in 1809 by Humphry Davy, and was the first light that was invented. This invention helped light up homes, and other buildings. The electric light was the starting base of the evolution of lights, and slowly evolved to what we have today in our homes.
Electromagnet
Electromagnets, invented in 1825 by William Sturgeon, helped by lifting heavy objects. With this, workers can lift things such as metal or iron. These materials are used for structures like railroads and bridges.
Telegraph
-
In 1837, Samuel Morse invented the telegraph, which allowed people to communicate from two different places. This helped because now, instead of having to wait for the Pony Express to deliver messages, people could just send messages in Morse Code along many wires that connected different places, and that message would arrive in less than a day.
The train, invented in 1804 by Richard Trevithick improved transportation, especially the transportation of heavy goods and objects. The train could go for longer without stopping much, and didn't get tired like horses would. If horses kept on dragging carries with heavy loads of goods, they would soon get too tired, and may even hurt themselves. But with trains, goods could be easily passed from place to place without anything getting hurt.
1841 - 1880
New Sewing Machine
Machine Gun
In 1862, the first machine gun was made by Richard Gatling, and was also known as the Gatling Gun. The purpose of this invention was to reduce the size of armies, and therefore reduce the number of deaths by combat and disease. This is mainly because the Gatling Gun was made in the Civil War. The Gatling Gun revolutionized wars, and slowly evolved to the machine guns that we have today.
Telephone
The telephone, invented by Antonio Meucci in 1876, allowed people to speak through a device, and have another person somewhere else hear those same words. With Samuel Morse's telegraph, people had to send messages in code, but with the Telephone, people could easily talk back and forth.
Light Bulb
-
Though it is true that the first electric light was invented by Humphry Davy in 1809, Thomas Edison upgraded it, and created the first Light Bulb on 1879. This allowed people to not have to put a light on a flat surface, but to be able to attach the light bulb and have it shine. The first light bulb was also the first practical incandescent light bulb.
Elias Howe, in 1845, re-invented the Sewing machine, so it wasn't an original idea, but he still improved the sewing machine. With this invention, people could now sew things together much faster, and they don't have to do it by hand.
1881 - 1920
Car
Camera
The camera, invented in 1888 by George Eastman was the first camera invented, and even though it was huge compared to what we have today, it still worked, and allowed people to capture moments. This eventually evolved into the small cameras that we can carry around today.
Air Conditioning
The invention of Air Conditioning was in 1902, invented by Willis Carrier, and helps to keep the house cool. Without this invention, most of the houses back then would probably be hot, especially with all of the factories sprouting and climate change.
First Military Tank
In 1912, De La Mole invented the first Military Tank, which, like the Gatling Gun, revolutionized war. With the tank, fighting became for more fierce. Tanks driving into battle with a huge cannon, with soldiers inside and around it? That colossal would be difficult to defeat.
Karl Benz invented the car in 1885, allowing people to travel much faster. Instead of being dragged in a carriage by horses, all people needed was oil, and then you could drive an auto-mobile across the streets. Like the train, the car could hold heavier things, and could travel far more efficiently.
