Questions, and conclusion
1 poke a hole in the the cup and place your finger over it than carefully pour water in it trying not to spill it.
water
plastic cup
pen
and a container or sink
2 place it over a container and take your thumb of the hole what happens?
3 for the following experiment do step one but use the same cup with the hole.
4 move your hand over the container and drop it, does the water come out?
in the first experiment when you hold the cup and remove your finger, gravity is acting upon it and since your hand isn't moving the cup in pulling toward your hand and can't go any further however gravity is pulling on the water so gravity is acting on the water to go to the ground and the hole is the option.
in our second experiment when you drop it at the same time you remove your hand from the hole gravity is acting on the cup and since your not holding it is falling and the water is pulling toward the earth at the same time.
Question:does gravity have the same force on all phases of matter?
conclusion: the gravity is acting on everything around us
safety Guidelines
there is nothing toxic in this experiment but you should still use safety googles and apron if you have them.
Observations
the water was acted on by gravity and spilled out of the hole
and in the second part when it was dropped no water came out until it fell on the ground.
