3.1 Drainage Basin Water Balance (Input: Precipitation (Stores (Ground…
-
Differences:
- Amount of water (volume more in :evergreen_tree:)
- Time (H: Infiltration first / A: IEF first)
- Speed (On surface > Sub-surface)
- Location (specific on/below slope)
- Region it occurs: H&A :evergreen_tree::hot_pepper:
- Direction of Flow (Down, Up, Lateral)
- Composition of Water (IEF/SOF)
Differences between OFs:
- When it occurs during the storm: IEF can occur instantly, SOF req time to saturate
- Where it occurs on the slope: IEF occurs at any part (mostly surface), SOF occurs at the base of slope upwards
- Composition of flow: IEF fresh water that has not infiltrated the soil , SOF mixture of water that has been in the soil and fresh ones
- Where it commonly occurs: IEF arid , SOF humid
- Volume of rain: IEF > SOF , large portions lost by surface runoff as little enters subsurface
- Speed of flows: IEF > SOF
