Impact of the Printing Press
It was more efficient
This was important because Before the printing press, no one was able to share their own ideas to the whole world.
The only people that were allowed to share information was the catholic church. When the printing press was made, anyone could share their ideas to the public and were able to make books much faster, cheaper and easier.
The efficiency of the printing press can relate to most of these topics. It can connect to all the positive impacts like, more people knew about the bible, better education, more religions easier to access different information and more.
It increased communication
The printing press increased the speed of communication. Far less man hours were needed to make 50 printed books than 50 written books.
As the printing press was very efficient, it was easy to get information with, news articles, and books. Which were used as a communication source at the time.
Spread the idea of other religions
The invention had important changes for the religious conflicts, as more people could write books there were more religions going out into the world.
When the catholic church was not the only place information could be released, more information about other religions came out, so the catholic church lost power and it was easier for people to access different information.
It was easier for people to access different or translated information
Martin Luther translated the Bible from Latin into German. Which made ordinary or poor German families that did not get the education to understand latin, able to read the bible.
In this new way of having information it was more efficient to translate, or to have different information. By being able to translate the bible some people finally understood it, and doubted the catholic church t then the catholic church lost power.
People became more literate
As important the printing press was to religions, that was not the main influence. The main influence of the invention was the idea of increasing literacy in general. The hand copied books were pretty expensive. But printed books were cheaper, so a person that wasn't as wealthy as others could have a small collection of books and be smarter.
This can relate with more people reading the bible because if more people were able to read then more would understand the bible.
More people knew about the bible
Because books got so easy to make and were cheaper, bibles were produced at a much faster rate and were becoming more common around Europe. They were also cheaper. It was important because people that were poorer could now get their own bibe.
This can relate to how people become more literate because they would read the bible more often because they had one of their own. As more people were able to understand the bible because they would read it more, they started to have some doubts about the catholci church, and so it lost some power.
Spread information faster
As it was easier to make books and more people were able to be authors, information spread much faster to Europe then later on to other places of the world. Which was a big factor in society.
As the printing press was very efficient, you could get news articles, and books. With this it was easier to spread information.
Catholic church lost some power
As other religions came out to the world and more people were able to understand the cahtolic church and know the truth, people started to look at other religions and not trust the catholic church.
As information got clearer, like being able to understand the bible and listening to different ideas, people started to not trust the catholic church.
