a hub is the most basic networking device that connects multiple computers or other network devices together.Ahub also allows many devices to connect to the same hub by USB ports. An advantage of this is that this is portable as it is not big and has no moving parts making in reliable and useful. However if the circuit inside the hub breaks this could have a massive impact on the whole gadget as it means no device can connect to this.
A network switch is a hardware device that channels incoming data from multiple input ports to the specific output port that will take it toward its intended destination. This is so much faster than hubs as it find the fastest and closet route to the device allowing it to transfer data quickly and easily. However a fault in a cable can result in the data being lost and the user having to resend everything
network switch is a hardware device that channels incoming data from multiple input ports to the specific output port that will take it toward its intended destination.A LAN is a local area network that allows nearby devices to connect whereas a WAN a wide area network means devices can be connected from a wide area.
Short for modulator-demodulator. A modem is a device or program that enables a computer to transmit data over, for example, telephone or cable lines.
A bus topology is a topology for a Local Area Network (LAN) in which all the nodes are connected to a single cable. The cable to which the nodes connect is called a "backbone". If the backbone is broken, the entire segment fails.
n a ring network each device (workstation, server, printer) is connected to two other devices - this forms a ring for the signals to travel around. Each packet of data on the network travels in one direction and each device receives each packet in turn until the destination device receives it.
In a star network each device on the network has its own cable that connects to a switch or hub. A hub sends every packet of data to every device, whereas a switch only sends a packet of data to the destination device.
A mesh topology can be a full mesh topology or a partially connected mesh topology. In a full mesh topology, every computer in the network has a connection to each of the other computers in that network.

a mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, Internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded apps.
Tablet computers resemble smartphones in some ways and can also be used to take photos, make phone calls, send messages, record videos and perform other tasks that can be performed by a smartphone as well.
an electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program.
A portable device which contains all the functions of a computer however it does not have as much space as the computer

Twisted pair is the ordinary copper wire that connects home and many business computers to the telephone company. To reduce crosstalk or electromagnetic induction between pairs of wires, two insulated copper wires are twisted around each other. Each connection on twisted around each other. Each connection on twisted pair requires both wires.
Coaxial cable is a type of copper cable specially built with a metal shield and other components engineered to block signal interface.Depending in the carrier technology used and other factors ,twisted pair copper wire and optical fiber are alternatives to a coaxial cable
A fiber optic cable is a network cable that contains strands of glass fibers inside an insulated casing. They're designed for long distance, high-performance data networking, and telecommunications. Compared to wired cables, fiber optic cables provide higher bandwidth and can transmit data over longer distances
