against abortion bc it's murder = deontological/absolute (but even so, what is life? when does the foetus become a human). other things being constant, we don't want to deny ppl of choice/life (but usually is a combination of life and choice e.g. abortion; which to choose e.g. some ppl if they're not free they won't choose to live. even life, who's more important? mother or child?)
but for biz ethics, to support an action, they'll use teleological approach
distributive - allocation: fair or unfair. e.g. whether grades given are fair e.g. criminal systems - sentencing (fines; what the person gets)
procedural: process of how you do it e.g. how prof grades our hw e.g. criminal systems - court hearing (e.g. loitering w intent, prof feels like he's not applying the right laws). usually the abuse of power and law will come from the procedure. ISA (internal security act) and laws to arrest those who are associated w secret societies has no court cases - if we are against this, we say that we don't have procedural justice. why is it impt to have procedural justice? due to transparency! appeal is also procedural justice
if there's no procedural justice, chances are distributive justice is quite accidental.

ppl trust secret society more than policeman (think secret society can protect them better), hence don't want to testify against secret society.
-
drug trafficking - death sentence pragmatic bc when you're dead can't commit crimes and vv deterrent
kidnapping laws - to protect foreign investors (hence have vv harsh laws to prevent them from being kidnapped) = pragmatic laws in sg
