Evolution/Human/Family tree
Natural selection
in a family there are differences (Variations)
Organisms that fit their environment will survive and reproduce
Charles Darwin learned that all living things have a common ancestor
natural selections(aka survived of the fittest) cause evolution
Natural selection explains how life started
flu and flu vacines
Before advanced medicine the Spanish flu killed millions of people
Vacines have been developed to create antibodies to fight of viruses
Flu can cause symptoms, such as a fever
Viruses can have different strengths based on their genes
`The flu is caused by the influenza viruses
Human Evolution
Paleontologists have found fossils of past humans
The oldest human fossil was found in Africa
Because of evolution humans and apes share a common ancestor
Modern humans are homo sapiens (wise human)
Humans belong to the primates group
plant adaptation
plants get their nutrients by eating animals, soil or plants
plants adapt to get sunlight by having large leaves or moving towards the sun
Plants adapt to get water by having roots underground
plants adapt to reproduce by spreading their seeds (pollen)
living things need to adapt to meet their needs
Fossils
Oil, gas and coal comes from fossils(fossil fuels )
Over million of years the plants were buried and become coal.
There are different types of fossils such as body, trace, mold and cast
Fossils tell us out Earth's history and its living things.
Fossils are the remains of things that died a long time ago and must have a quick burial.
The fossil record is incomplete cause not everything becomes a fossil. Fossils support the theory of evolution.
Charles Darwin
He wrote the book called "The origin of species"
The theory of Evolution is supported by lots of evidence, such as genetics and heredity.
He Disagreed with other scientists, because he believed that evolution takes a very long time to happen.
He learned that living things looked different, depending on their environment.
While traveling, he studied many types of plants and animals.
Charles Darwin developed the modern Theory of evolution.
Extinction
99% of species lived on earth are gone.
Climate Change can cause mass extinction, such as the dinosaurs
Extinction is where an entire species dies out.
Evolutionary pressures can also cause the extinction of species.
About of 65 million years ago, dinosaurs went extinct.
Human activities can cause extinction, which would negatively impact us.
