WAYS OF PERSUADING
There are different classifications of persuasion: it is often divided between "persuasion by appeal to reason" and "persuasion by appeal to emotions"
A similar distinction in some way made by Aristotle, between "logos" and "pathos".
A practical example of this was provided by Frank Luntz, a "communication professional", who found that women constantly respond to the phrase "for children" regardless of the context in which it was used.
The communicator also stresses the importance of using the words "DREAM" and "HOPE" in political discourse as "politics remains an emotional arena".
A fundamental concept of communication theory is Goffman: Face is a term we use as a metaphor for the self-image you want to project to other people.
