Class validictorien, debate partners with Justyce since sophmore year.
Cares about Justyce a lot. When Justyce beat up someone from saying a racist comment at a party he stopped by his dorm to talk to Justyce and it made Justyce feel a lot better about the situation.
she does not like SJ that is why Justyce didn't tell his mom how he felt about her. She is a good mom to Justyce and motivates him to do great in his acedemics and other things he is imcluded in.
Justyce's best friend, at the beginning he was good friends with the white guys and didn't really notice the racist comments they were making and before he died it took a toll on him and made him very upset , he was so upset he punched someone,even quit the basketball team.

Justyce takes a lot of his time to write all of his feelings to, he tells him everything he is going through. Even though he isn't alive Justyce wants to be like him so he writes everything to him.
He is in some parts of the book but he isn't necessarily a main character.
He is pretty round and pretty static.
He is a jerk to Manny and Justyce, he says a lot of racist comments in debate class. He scares Justyce for example at Manny's funeral when Jared looked at Justyce it made him feel scared. Justyce is very smart and got accepted to a really good college and Jared was asking what he got on his ACT and other tests like that and they had scores really close to each other and Jared was being really racist and rude about the whole situation. He is a white man.
He is practially one of the main charcters because he is in the book quite a bit.

Kyle is one of Manny and Jared's friends from school and follows Jared on the racist and rude comments they make about black people.
Tyler is also one of Jared and Manny's friends from school and also follows Jared on the racist and rude comments about black people.
Officer Castillo
He is a white police and he arrested Justyce when he was helping Melo when she was drunk. Officer Castillo assulted him and beated him up.
He is dynamic we don't know much about him other then he arrested Justyce. Pretty minor charcter.
