        MPC: four categories
        
        Purposely: consciously engaged
        
        Knowingly: awareness that conduct will necessarily or very likely cause a certain result
        
        Recklessly: gross deviation from standard of care / conscious disregard os a substantial risk.
        
        Negligently: failure to be aware of substantial risk
  - - - C/L: take an act with a dangerous propensity toward completion of the crime
      - MPC: take a substantial step beyond mere preparation
- - - - Does not bar private ind. from searching/seizing
    - - Search = physical intrusion into area with reasonable privacy
      - Seizure = meaningful interference with possessory interest/arrest of person
    - - Warrant based on PC that crime has or is in progress
      - W. must be particular
      - Supported by LEO oath
      - issued by neutral judge
    - - Exceptions: Plain view, Consent, Auto Search, Search incident to arrest, Inventory search, Terry Stop
    - - Evidence gathered via improper techniques or in violation of suspect's rights is automatically excluded unless it can be shown that this evidence would have been discovered nevertheless.
        
        Exceptions
        
        Procedural: grand juries, civil immigration
        
        Doctrinal: clerical errors, knock and announce,
