- - - - Created the world (within the universe of Ea) and the Ainur (the Valar and the Maiar). The creation of the world came when he sang music (Ainulindale), the Ainu, were offsprings of his thought, and sang in harmony with each other.
      - Emphasizes that all actions done by anyone or anything, no matter how evil they may seem, only serve his purposes in the end.
    - - Their shaped the world, and they understood the purpose of their music besides how beautiful it was and a vision of what the world will be, and Iluvatar allowed those who wanted to shape the world in their own, unique visions to go down into it.
      - Melkor
        
        The most powerful Ainu, who wanted to bring things into the Void, a place where he hung out alone in. He sang a different song from that of Illuvitar, much to his creator's dismay, which would go on to create the Children of Iluvatar, elves (Quendi) and men (Atani). He also desired the world for his own, but was overthrown by the Valar.
        
        The Eldar were created shortly after, which were another race of elves (and the name was given to them by Orome). The Eldar traveled to Valinor to live with the Valar.
        
        The Noldor were one of three groups of high elves.
        
        Brother of Manwe (who was Illuvitar's favorite out of the two).
    - - The name given to the world as a whole.
  - - - Seven Lords of the Valar and seven Queens of the Valar. The Valar are Ainur that traveled to Arda and created different aspects of earth.
      - Manwe
        
        Governs the wind and weather, and was appointed as the first king of the earth, and he has seen more of what has happened on earth than anyone else.
      - Ulmo
        
        The lord of all waters, above and below the earth, and is a close friend of Manwe (Manwe is mightier than Ulmo)
      - Aule
        
        The lord of the world's substances he is the master of all crafts. Aule shaped the land and made dwarfs.
        
        His spouse is Yavanna, who watches over the plants and animals that inhabit the earth.
      - Mandos/Lorien
        
        Brothers charged with keeping spirits.
        
        Mandos cares for dead elves, is gifted with foresight and can see the future, except portions of the future that have yet to be revealed by Ilúvatar. He knows all and never forgets anything
        
        Lorien cares for the spirits of the living.
    - - Servants of the Valar, and most aren't known to Elves and Men, because they very rarely appear in forms visible to them. The two Maiar that elves and man do know about are Osse the servant of Ulmo, he can makes storms with Ulmo. Uinen is the only one that can clam Osse down.
      - Balrogs, who were Maiar that were seduced and corrupted by Melkor into his service.
        
        Sauron, who was originally a servant of Aule, was also corrupted by Melkor.
  - - - A realm created by the Valar, to be safe from their previous battle against Melkor's army.
      - The two trees of Valinor were Telperion and Laurelin, who were both wanning and waxing (like the moon).
        
        Telperion was the first tree that Yavanna made. Its leaves are a dark green and silver, it brings light into Valinor. Valar calls it the Opening Hour because it takes full blossom before Laurelin, the second tree.
        
        Laurelin was the second tree made by Yavanna. Its leaves are a lighter green with gold, it brings warmth into Valinor. Laurelin blossomed 12 hours after Telperion and so began the counting of time.
    - - Hunter of monsters and other evil creatures, who would ride across Middle-Earth on his horse called Nahar who is white in the sun and shinning silver at night.
    - - An underground fortress in northern Middle-earth, created by Melkor, where he gathered many Maiar that he had corrupted. He first made it without the Valar knowing it was there.
  - - - The first dwarfs were created by Aule because he was getting impatient for the Firstborns to wake up. He first created seven dwarfs king in the hall under the mountains in Middle- Earth. Iluvatar was angry with Aule for creating a person before the time when the Firstborn would wake up. Iluvatar did not destroy the dwarfs but he made them sleep until the Firstborns woke up.
