possible questions they ask me

what do you like doing for fun

why do you want to join?

what do you know about science?

from what it know...

why should you be a student at sail?

what do you think makes SAIL different than regular school?

what kind of person are you?

why do you think some people want to go back to regular school

honestly, I think that people get stuck trying to think of something for their passion project or think that stuff is too complicated. I am also afraid of that happening to me, and I promise to try my best to stick with my goal, a way I can improve myself.

what kind of things do you know about technology?

what do you expect from here?

what do you know about math?

what do you know about engineering?

what do you know about art?

what do you know about other education facts?

what are you good at?

what do you want to improve in?

what did you contribute to at your elementary school?

what do you want to know about SAIL?

what other programs were you in?

are you able to physically and mentally take care of yourself?

how are you doing in physical education?

more about its education system, like is there any way to fail the school, about its acceptance tests...

its a school where you can learn what you want.

how will going to this school impact my life?

drawing

i know the basics of drawing. I can draw nearly anything in a cartoony style, and enjoy drawing caricatures. I can also draw realistic, though it's not my specialty.

I really want to learn how to improve my drawing skills because the art projects at school were all lame and never taught you anything. My hopes for SAIL is that it teaches you art skills.

will it have me get a higher chance into university?

how does this school handle conflict?

how rich is it? what are my limits to what I can get from this school?

drawing

thinking up stories

math

deeply thinking to myself

passion projects

learning the fun way

having teachers understanding the goals of the students

all these points seem like good qualities of this school, therefore, making me want to join.

more technology

we only used ipads for research and typing stuff down

speaking french

coding

basic

scratch blocks

though the blocks make it seem simple and easy, it is. unless you're making a more complex project, which is what i always aim for. there are still some coding aspects that I still don't understand, like the "make your own blocks" section, which limits me to a medium level of complexity. I am always looking forward to learning more, and my school didn't have master coders to teach me.

bullying, fights, etc

if you choose your students in a certain way, then does this school even have much conflict?

do you work well with people?

javascript

currently I am learning how to use JavaScript on khan academy, because I believe that they use the most general form of JavaScript. all other coding sites have JavaScript with different commands.

I'm one of those people who thinks math is fun.

at my school the library was the place with the most technology. I've had three librarians and I remember one of them having ipads out all the time. the apps on there were stuff for small kids, and scratch jr. was obviously way too easy for me.

spirit team

library

every day after school I would go to the library and help out. mostly it would be putting stickers on the books and shelving graphic novels. I would also plug in ipads to their chargers

I was also in the school spirit team, making posters for the monthly spirit days and playing the mascot. it was a way to have fun while cheering up the school.

coding!

robotics!

really, it depends on the situation.

working with people

not working with people

upsides

downsides

it helps to have multiple minds, and it helps to get the work faster. it also depends on the kind of people I'm working with

its either one of two things for the downsides: they either take over the whole thing, or they make me do everything.

i'm not the best athlete I know but I still keep trying. in gym class when we do sports, the girls usually don't do anything. I can think of one or two girls that actually participate, including me. but I usually play as aggressive as I can, trying to make a change to the game somehow.

I can deal with having to work by myself, since I don't have anyone to argue with, but sometimes, I wish I stuck with a partner to get extra work done.

I can calculate any math problem if I understand how it works and can calculate some long division problems in my head

drawing

reading

making up stories

creating graphic novels

coding

video games

watching youtube

we didn't do much engineering at my school but the closest thing is simple machines and rube goldberg projects.

personality traits

creative

knowledgeable

nice

usually yes, as long as I'm not overworking myself.

scouts

Creative writing for Children

I know a lot about basic science stuff like the human body and space. but that's all we ever learn because schools apparently think that students will forget stuff that are constantly repeated in their face.

what are your weaknesses?

I'm unable to keep tidy because of work and siblings.

Korean Language school

all of these points seem like good qualities. I've seen SAIL videos from the website from real students and given the impression from my high school attending sister, how she hates the strict teachers and homework there, it's kind of an easy choice to make.

you don't go from class to class to class, you learn what you want, instead of a teacher forcing you to learn stuff you already know.

about the rube goldberg projects, they were very simple but I feel like I could have done better if we had more time, and that's what I believe SAIL has to offer: time to learn what you're understanding.

I can sometimes get a bit stressed out for different reasons, like if my brothers bother me too much. I hope that SAIL helps me to get over that kind of stuff and not get over stressed.

What do you want to learn?

Tech

Engineering

Science

Art

Math

I want to learn about more interesting things, the science in everyday stuff, like chocolate! Umbrellas! Biometrics! There's got to be science in all of those things, not just space and human bodies. I just want to keep learning.

I'm already pretty good at arts but I feel like there's always space to improve. sure, I could search up a Youtube video and get something from there, but if I ever need a question, there's no one to ask. I believe it's better to learn from real people because of that very reason. I also want to learn how to do more complex origami and learn how to do coordinated dance. (I can't dance.)

I'm already pretty good at this subject, but probably because they limited us too much in regular school. I want to learn more, and keep trying. there's a few things I don't know about math, and the teachers at my school are less understanding.

I want to learn how to write JavaScript and learn how to do 3-D modeling. I also want to enhance my coding skills and experiment with videos and stuff. I want to learn how to make a professional style commercial or mini-movie. I also want to make smooth animations, 2-D and 3-D.

I want to look at the in-depth engineering of stuff like clocks and also want to create complex rube goldberg puzzles.

I love thinking up stories.

just like the slogan says: "Learning without limits" is definitely the case at SAIL. You have no tests to take, because all of the students are learning what they want. at normal school you can't choose what you learn, and everything gets constantly repeated. It's annoying.

intelligent

positive

medium-tempered

always up to try new things

is literally interested in anything and everything.

I have two younger brothers and an older sister. They can be annoying at times but that's just what siblings do. I have two parents and love reading graphic novels. I like drawing and writing and also 2-D animating! when I write I try to make it as funny and original as possible. I do not want people to think I plagiarized anyone in any way.

drawing, math, neatness, coding

2-D animating (is that tech or art?)

surrey challenge program

surrey blended learning program

other stuff

I'm a person who wants to try everything, but even some things are uninteresting to me. I want to know the interesting aspects of all things, and even though some things may be useless in real life, it will make you smarter and more interesting.

i'm a fun, creative person, and I like helping others in need. I'm good at art, music, writing, grammar, math,
