Wau Bulan (bass)
performing style
(Antonio) two people in a group for A part, and they change time breath by poking each other. Because our breathing is awful.
(Tak) Humming in domino/cannon effect; can start one at a time until all are singing. This is simply just to add an effect to the performance and trying to elevating it to another level and trying to have the audience in awe, almost. Another can be getting gradually louder in volume with time - same reasoning - just different idea.
(Reach) half of the group stands and starts the song off by humming then when they get to the chorus the second group stand up and do the chorus and the other half sit down.
(Charlie) one half of the group starts and stands. The second half then starts after and sits down. This something good to do because it adds different levels to the performance and when the second half start is would be a surprising boost of sound for the audience.
(bryan) - one person in the middle start the song off by humming and the other start to follow and spread until the end.
-
-
(Jerhuy) Whatever group is singing, only that group will be standing up, when the ‘base’ hums they stand up and when the soprano sings they stand up, its either standing up or sitting down. If both groups are singing at the same time both groups will stand up together and continue singing.
Clothing
-
(reach) wear moon costumes, wear malasian flag pants and shirt
-
(Tak) Contemporary/modernized version of old traditional Malaysian clothing, to pay respects to the culture, but to also do something new and different that is quite unpredictable at the same time. and maybe involving and mixing new ideas to old ones whilst still respecting it
-
(Charlie) Malaysian traditional t-shirt with black sweatpants. this would be good because it would mix old and modern clothing.

Singing style
(Visal) We should have smooth, balanced pitches. We should do low voices.
(Charlie) we could start off by half of us humming and then the other half joins in later on. this would add mote interesting by adding more layers.
(Tak) We have to have an angelic and smooth voice as a foundation supporting others that are singing the foreground of the song. Mainly just to support the other groups and not mess with it too much, as in not having it be too messy and hardy
-
(Jerhuy) We as the base will serve as a foundation for the soprano singers, we start off by humming (normally at the beginning and softly during the singing) using our head voice for about 8 seconds, then the singers will start singing their parts. I feel like the original starts off too long, so for our performance we shorten the duration.
Stage Choreography
-
(Antonio) sit when we during the A part, and put the hand together(like praying).
(Tak) Stand in a triangle and until the fast-paced and clapping part, in which; people would sort of turn 180, clap and stomp as an extra - same rhythm and all.
This is more just to add a cool effect and surprise the audience in a way, to leave them in awe and captivated
(Charlie) Stand in a semi circle that is more stretched out. this would help us to project sound and the whole audience would be able to see every one
(Jerhuy) The formation should be spread into a U-shape so that the humming/singing will be even and not too soft/loud on one side. Base singers stay at the back, while soprano stays in the front.
Song Structure
.
Singing instead of humming in the beginning. At the beginning on the song, instead of humming and trying to retain one specific pitch for a long period of time - may be having everyone in the bass group sing a vowel with the same pitch instead as that can prove to be easier, especially because it is something we are struggling with. With singing, we can also play around and do something like a domino effect or gradually getting louder by time - captivating the audience and also showing off cool effects relating to the performance. And I also think that having open-mouthed singing is more crisp and cleaner than humming(Tak)Wau Bulan Singing Example
-
(Jerhuy) Instead of starting off the performance with everyone humming, we should build it up, 1 person starts humming and more people in the group gradually add up to the volume of the humming. The person that can hum the loudest will start.
-
-
(Antonio) We should use energetic chest voice during C, D part
