That there community is always better and less rude and that it's better to talk to people about how you feel then not talk to people about their problems or issues. Nevaeh.W
-
I think it means that talking about differences about people is rude because it might offend them and make them feel uncomfortable. But talking about things that everyone has in common makes everyone feel included. C Fegan
I think the quote means it a little too awkward to talk about things people don't have. M.pankevitch
He is talking how it is less rude to talk about how things are the same. Rather than talk about things that people are diffrent like he likes to ride a bike and the other person likes baseball. D. Taylor
When he says that he means that it isn't very nice to talk about things that are different. You should talk about things that are the same and not different. Alyssa O.
-
I think the quote means on page 48,means that you should never talk about someone else differnts, because it isn't nice. Gabby C
The quote 48 mean it all was better and less rude to talk about thing they have common than different. M.Ahmed
I think that this quote means that is always better to be nice because there in no meanness and there really is nothing that they can really make fun of eachother for because they are all the same people. Aliyah Quarles
What is the point of having all the age-leveled rules? Why do you think so? Support your answer with text evidence and page numbers.
So that everyone is the same, possibly. "Always better, less rude..." J. Rice
Age-leveled rules are necessary because Children are more mature, the older they are. "...And, for the first time, pockets, indicating that she was mature enough now to keep track of her own small belongings." (pg.57) N. Jefferies
The point of age leveled rules is to stop jealousy. I think they did it to make a better place. JRowland
The point of having all the age-leveled rules us so people/kids don't fight and argue over things. why I think this is because people want a happy life and without fighting and arguing there life is going to be happy. Nevaeh.W
i think that the point of having age rules is to keep people in order and to prevent any misunderstandings between ages as well as to prepare them for when they are adults A. foskey
Its to keep younger kids from being jealous. If younger kids were aloud to have what the older kids had than the younger kids would complain and people just can't have that.
T. Webb
I think the intent of the age level rules are to make sure all the kids are growing and maturing at the same pace in order for them all to feel "normal". C Fegan
so they can act like proper citizens in the community, and the council will know what age they are. Darren. T

I don't think there is any point in having age-leveled rules. On page 38, it says that all 7 girls should always wear ribbon son their braids and honestly yeah there may be jealousy but that's normal. Alyssa O.
It's normal to us, but what if there wasn't any jealousy? Would that make the world a better place?
I guess. I think jealousy doesn't really affect anyone in the real world unless someone takes it to far. Alyssa O.
I think point of age level rule is when person get something to their age level. The text said that "Become a nine and removing ribbons and got her first her got bicycle."M.Ahmed

What are the Stirrings, and why do the citizens have to take pills for it?
Stirrings are one's sexual desires that take the form of a dream in Jonas's case. The citizens take the pills possible so that they don't have a "love" emotion. J. Rice
-
Stirrings are "feelings" for others and they take pills for it because it is not allowed. N. Jefferies
The stirrings are feelings are feelings. They take pills for it so that they don't have feelings. JRowland
stirring are feeling of affection they take pills for it because love gets you hurt when it fades A. foskey
Stirrings are like a yurn for somebody in love kinda way for somebody else. They have to take the pills so that they don't fall in love with somebody else, it is just simply not allowed. T. Webb
The stirrings are feelings that people have for eachother. People have to take pills for it because people can have bad feelings and the community wants only good feelings. Nevaeh.W
Stirrings are sexual desires or dreams that you start having at a certain age and you take pills to make them go away because you don't get to pick who your partner is , you just get assigned one, therefore you can't have those feelings for other people. C Fegan
-
I agree because the way the dream was described made it seem as though it was a sexual desire. J. Rice
the stirrings are a sensation that is normal for twelves, almost sexually. to keep them from becoming mad if their not chosen to be partners M.pankevitch
So they do not get feelings about doing sexual activity with each other. pg 46 it says "the wanting" I believe he is renfrencing about sexual activity D. Taylor
-
-
A strring is a dream that means you want or like-like someone. And the citizens have to take the pill so that have no emotione or anything. Gabby C
The stirring are romantic feel with someone else. The stirring are not allow in community . citizen take a pill to to take way the feel.M.Ahmed
he stirrings are when someone is having sexual thoughts about someone or somthing and so the community has to take till to kinda turn off there emotions and make them num to how they are feeling. Aliyah Quarles

Do you think that when someone is released, they're sent to another society like their original? J. Rice
-
No because if they never heard from them again then theirs a likely chance that they are dead. T.Webb
No becuase if there old they are sent to a place where old people die. And or the people who are young getting ceremony of realesed are gonna go somewhere they "die". D. Taylor

-
Why do they get 2 kids per family unit? Why can't they have 3 per family unit? And what other units are there?
I think they give families only two kids so that all family could be treated fair so that is why i think a family could get 2 kids. H.shalle
I think it just make things easier for the parents and their family. I would like it if they could just have as many kids that they want. Alyssa O.

do you think that over time the couples grow love for each other because they've been together for so long or not because they were just paired together? C Fegan
i don't think that they would catch feelings because of the pills that they have to take to stop that. JRowland
-
i don´t think so because they don´t have a chose to be together so they cant be with someone they really want to be with.APreneau

do you think lily and Jonas´s mother is there real mother from birth or do you think a different mother birth them. APreneau
No she is not because they have a mom who will give them birth and after that they will get adopted by their fake parent who will take care of them. H shalle
I agree with Hanad. Remember that the birthmothers give birth, the children stay in the nurturing center until the ceremony in December then they are placed with family. Mrs. Mukusa

why do you think young kids and old people only get to see themselves undressed why can't the parents see their kids undressed. APreneau
I would assume the parents can when the children are younger. Maybe it changes to being forbidden once a child turns 12. Little kids will obviously need help with getting dressed and showered so maybe there is an age where it stops being allowed. Mrs. Mukusa
