Culture
Way of life, thinking, acting and beliefs of a particular group of people at a particular time
Types
Non- material - Abstract human creation
Family patterns, beliefs, languages
Material - Physical objects that culture created
Automobile, books, clothes.
Symbols
A sign, shape or object used to represent something else

Verbal /non-verbal
Written/ unwritten
Examples
Dove-symbol of peace
Black-represents evil/ death
Instant messaging- symbol (u=you)
Language
An expression of who we are as invidual, communities, and nations
Vital to cultural identity -can point to a specific group of people
One's culture cannot be understand without accessing its language directly
E.g
European cultures- a "good day" means a sunny day,
African cultures it means a rainy day.
Different dialect in English depending on what region that you are in

A major influence on a person behaviour and attitude , serve as broad guidelines in all situations
