Summary: The fourth planet belonged too a businessman. He so much occupied that he did not even raise his head at the little prince's arrival. When he got there the business was so busy calculating numbers that he did not have time to relight his cigarette. The business man then said "Eh? Are you still there? Five-hundred-and-one million--I can't stop... I have so much to do! I am concerned with matters of consequence. I don't amuse myself with balderdash. Two and five make seven..." The little re asked his question for the second time. He then goes on to tell the prince that he had only been disturbed only three times, the first twenty-two years ago, then again eleven years ago and the third time was now. Then he continued to count again and the little prince asked his question for a third time. The businessman suddenly realized that there was no hope of being left in peace until he answered his question. He told him that he was counting the stars. He then on to say that he owns the stars, then he mention that the king owns them and then the business man said the he only reigned over stuff. The little prince then asked him what good does it do him to own the stars and he responds with it makes me rich. He then said that is allows him to buy more stars, he said he owned all the stars because the was the first person to think of it. He then says that he counts them and recounts them, then he says he can put them in a bank. The little prince asked him how he could do this and his reply was "That means that I write the number of my stars on a little paper. And then I put this paper in a drawer and lock it with a key." They talk own and the little prince says " It is of some use to my volcanoes, and it is of some use to my flower, that I own them. But you are of no use to the stars..." and the businessman's mouth opened and found nothing to say.
