Instructional Strategies
Essential to successful learning; using technology to enhance the educational process. It requires an understanding of pedagogical principles that are specific to the use of technology.
Application of Use
Technology tools must encourage meaningful learning and extend learning from students preexisting knowledge to help them create new knowledge. The use of computer as a workbook substitute has not been successful.
Engagement
students that were in a program with more technology were more engaged into the learning experiences compared with the national average of students who were in traditional classrooms. However, while the students engagement increased, they didn't show increased performance on assessment outcomes.
Access
An assumption among some educators is that increased access to technology tools. will. automatically increase student engagement. The idea is that use of. a device in the classroom will make the student want to learn more.
