Notation for each

Translation is a term used in geometry to describe a function that moves an object a certain distance.

A series or system of written symbols used to represent numbers, amounts, or elements in something such as music or mathematics.

A transformation in which a plane figure turns around a fixed center point.

In mathematics, a reflection is a mapping from a Euclidean space to itself that is an isometry with a hyperplane as a set of fixed points; this set is called the axis or plane of reflection.

a mapping of a metric space onto another or onto itself so that the distance between any two points in the original space is the same as the distance between their images in the second space rotation and translation are isometries of the plane.

Transformation

The general rule for rotation of an object 90 degrees is (x, y) --------> (-y, x). For 180 degrees, the rule is (x, y) --------> (-x, -y) For 270 degrees, the rule is (x, y) --------> (y, -x)

transformation refers to the movement of objects in the coordinate plane.

dilation1

Example suppose the point (6, 7) is reflected over y = x. The coordinates of the reflected point are (7, 6).

Example rotation, translation, reflection, glides

Example is a transformation that moves every point in a figure the same distance in the same direction.
